Scope:
Specific Challenge
A substantial number of organizations and initiatives aim to improve patient involvement in medicines development. However there is no organized information repository to share best practices, standards and approaches. Real-time, searchable information sharing is critical to develop standard approaches and guidance which are shared and embraced by multiple stakeholders.
Scope
The aim is to establish a knowledge repository for the sharing of non-competitive information for use by patient groups, regulators, health authorities and industry. A Patient Inspired Knowledge Hub will support the involvement and central role of patients in pharmaceutical research & development and regulatory approval of medicines and vaccines.
Expected Impact
Improved patient focused medicine development.
Transparency on when patient involvement occurs, details and standards of how stakeholders are involving patients from early discovery throughout the research and development cycles towards and following the approval of new medicines and vaccines.
