Specific Challenge:
To design and demonstrate multifunctionnal control surfaces for next generation aircraft, and also associated design, manufacturing, testing and certification processes. New control surfaces will have the objective of - adapting the geometry to the flight point (morphing) - reducing loads (more efficient loads alleviation) - reducing weight though optimized structures - reducing noise - reducing manufacturing costs (thermoplastics, 3D printing, ...). Improvements of validation and certification methods will address the integration of simulation as an accepted contribution to the means of compliance.
